When Juuichi uses bankai with his Zanpakuto, it takes on a form similar to Toshiro Hitsugaya's Daiguren Hyorninmaru but with some noticeable differences. Plus, instead of Ice, it's Fire that surrounds Juuichi. While in Bankai, Juuichi can manipulate fire. His bankai form encases part of his torso and his right arm in semi-cooled magma. His sword changes shape into a 6' long dual red-edged blade. Some of his Bankai abilities are:

Mirage - Juuichi can make multiple clones of himself using heat manipulation, however, the illusions he create are unable to harm his opponent. He can use this technique multiple times

Flare - By increasing the heat of the fire that form his wings in a sudden burst, Juuichi can blind his opponents. He can do this multiple times.

Dragon Surge: One of Juuichi's most powerful attacks. Juuichi creates a wall of fire by slashing his Zanpakuto in a horizontal motion. The wall lingers for a bit, then multiple snake-like dragons emerge from the wall and chase after the opponent by honing in on their Reiatsu and all attack the target at once.

Bio: Years ago when Kisuke Urahara was Captain of the 12th Division, Juuichi was a full fledged Shinigami who was positioned in the 11th Division of the 13 Court Guard Squad. He was kind of favored by Captain Kenpachi. Unfortunately for Juuichi, he was trying to keep the fact that his Zanpakuto held a fire element to it, as well as that he could use Bankai a secret from the others, especially from his captain.

Juuichi was on patrol one night, when he suddenly heard screams. Juuichi rushed to see what happened, but to his surprise, what he saw when he arrived was 5th Captain Shinji Hirako and others being surrounded and defeated by what looked like Hollows. Juuichi was frightened beyond all belief but he knew what he had to do, he turned around to go retrieve help. But when he turned around, what he saw was... a Hollow.

Juuichi then later woke up nearly 2 weeks after the incident. Not wanting to remember what happened, he just went back to his usual duties. Everything seemed normal but Juuichi wasn't feeling well. Of course he had injuries from what happened, but the pain that he was feeling was coming from deep within him. He quickly ran to an empty area. The pain brought Juuichi down to his knees, coughing and vomiting, Juuichi felt like he was dying. But then something started to happen. Thick white fluid poured out of Juuichi's mouth in place of vomit. The liquid began to wrap it's self around Juuichi's head. Before he knew it, the liquid encased his whole head. After a few minutes, the liquid solidified and then shattered, revealing a mask similar to a Hollow's! Patrolling shinigami discovered Juuichi but didn't realize it was him. They thought that a Hollow had infiltrated the Seireitei once again, so they alerted everyone! Juuichi had to either die or run, so he ran. But no matter where he ran, Juuichi was found by other shinigami. So he ran to the one place that gave him a better chance of safety, the world of the living.

Soon after arriving in the living world, the mask that was stuck to Juuichi's face, had cracked and fallen off. Juuichi then sought out Urahara and begged him to make him a Gigai and to erase his memories of being a Shinigami and implant memories of being human. Urahara granted Juuichi his wish, and is currently living amongst the humans, in secret, unknowing of what happened to him, and what he has become.
