//Ability//

[Cerebral Relay]

Cerebral Relay is a form of Telepathy. The user can act as a "relay station" or a "medium" for a group of minds. Allowing the ones connected to the user, to "speak" to one another with their thoughts.

[Activation]
To activate a mental link. The user must place a kiss upon the forehead of another releases a hormone that changes the brainwaves of the ones who are kissed to sync with the user's.

[Deactivation]
To deactivate the mental link, a kiss upon the lips will causes a small electrical discharge to break the sync.

[Pros]

- Does not rely on technology.

- Language barriers can be bypassed as long as the user, acting as the relay point for the thoughts to pass through, knows the language and is able to translate to the other linked minds.

- Has minor ability to sense the pain and emotions of the minds the user is link to.

- A more stealthy way of communicating information between individuals without the act of using a device.

[Cons]

- Both the user and individuals must completely be accepting and open for their thoughts to be read and to be able to read others thoughts through the user of the ability. [Roll a 5 or higher]

- The user is incapable of linking minds with animals or mindless beings (corpses, animated/inanimate objects, robots, etc.).

- The connected party must stay within a certain distance of the user for the ability to work. [328 ft./ 100 m]

-If the user is knocked unconscious, overwhelmed by too many thoughts or inflicted with too much pain during the use of their ability, mental communication through the group will be dropped immediately.

- Including their own mind, the User is only able to comfortably relay for 2 to 4 people at once; 5 or 6 minds including own can cause mental strain.

- If the user does not deactivate the mental link with the connectors, the link will sever by default after 24 hours. Causing recoil to occur to the user. [Gives them a headache. Pain level is depending on number of people they were linked to.]

- If the link is severed forcibly (other than the default disconnection or by the user's hand) on the user's side or the connector's side; The remaining connected and the user receives feedback.

//Personality//

Julia is a shy and reserved young woman who would rather enjoy the hum of a computer and servers than partake in casual conversation. She has trust issues, and as a result, she keeps people at arm's length, often trying to avoid social situations. She feels as though she is always being judged and ridiculed, so is often anxious in social situations where she will end up being a tad clumsy. As anxious and restless as she is, some may think she may even have some screws loose - they wouldn't be too far off.

However, when alone with a computer and behind a hacker persona, she will manage to be more open and talkative as she obtains complete anonymity from the world. To which she would not have it any other way.

//Background//

With Julia, the beginning of her life was just ordinary, average, and simply normal. An only child to an average couple in an average community, Julia lived a pretty average and normal childhood. She had a stay-at-home mom, and a working father, both whom love her so. Only things out of the ordinary was that she was labeled by child therapists as exceptionally aware to her surroundings, and a keen sense of observation – her mother swears at times it was like Julia could read her thoughts; otherwise, completely normal.

Puberty tends to be awkward for everyone; hormones fluctuate in erratic levels, physical changes occur, and one can find themselves with awkward thoughts. This couldn’t be truer in Julia’s case, for around her teen years, as she was just beginning Middle School, strange occurrences began to arise. From time to time, she would hear whispers, quiet and incoherent, so she simply passed it off until the whispers grew louder. They were loud and rampant in groups, crowds, and social gatherings. Try as she might to suppress them, to simply ignore them, Julia simply couldn’t.  And eventually, it all got out of hand.  When she felt overwhelmed by the whispers, her head throbbed horribly, giving her a terrible headache while unknown to her, a great amount of hormones within her body secreted from her and affected those around her, causing them to hear the mass of incoherent whispers as well.

The first outburst occurred in the cafeteria of her school.  Students and Faculty alike panicked when they all suddenly heard strange muffled whispers surrounding them; Panic ensued. Soon the outbursts grew more frequent, from classrooms, grocery stores, to social events. Eventually, these occurrences of mass confusion caught the attention of the local news, but she wasn’t discovered as the source of the panic, only seen as another victim.  These events even went as far as catching attention from a certain government organization.

As Julia grew older, the whispers she heard began to grow quieter, and soon all but ceased.  It didn’t matter how, what mattered to Julia was that they were just gone, and her parents, elated.

While hesitant, High School started off normal enough for her. And that was all she wanted. Soon, her life was returning to normal; grades were returning to what they once were, and she even managed to make a few friends and joined clubs that centered around computer technology. Soon she began to gain the interest of one of the popular boys that attended some of her classes. At first, Julia surely thought he just wanted a cheat-sheet, someone he can bum answers and copy homework from. But to her surprise, he was quite charming and not once showed any intention of just wanting to use her.  His words and actions seemed, quite genuine. Soon after the two began to interact more, eventually becoming friends.

Some time passed and Julia was invited over for a study group at the boy’s home. While waiting for the others, flirtatious happenings began to happen between the two. Julia, while being uncertain and flustered beyond verbal communication, she let her actions speak for her as she simply placed a kiss upon his forehead. And almost instantly, the whispers began to form.  But unlike before, they were now far more coherent than she cared for. She was able to hear, made her panic and her heart sink. “This is too easy, this bet is in the bag.  Good thing no one else will interrupt us.” She attempted to fight off his sexual advances, but it proved futile while in her state of shock and despair.  She was unable to speak, but she screamed in her mind, “No!  No!  I don’t want this!  Stop!!”  The boy froze in surprise as he heard her voice within his mind.  This provided a distraction for Julia to properly place her knee to his groin, allowing her to escape his clutches and leave as fast as she could back home.  Relieved she was out of there and that was the end of it… or so she hoped.

The next day, rumors began to spread through the school. As if the painful headache she was dealing with wasn’t enough, Julia noticed she was getting awkward stares where ever she went. Later she found out a new rumor, spread by that boy, was circulating throughout the school, one that labeled her a “slut” and “easy”.  Almost all of her friends abandoned her, wanting nothing to do with one known as a “slut”. This led to bulling by the other girls, and pranks being pulled on her.  Vandalizing Julia’s desk, locker, and even at times, her home. Her life was far from normal now, and little by little, Julia found her social life to be crumbling to the ground. She escaped more into computers and the Internet, where she could escape from all the torture and pain she’s been dealt in reality.  It was there she discovered hints of what could possibly be happening to her.  All of these ‘Whispers’ and ‘Voices’….  She finally discovered what had been happening to her to cause such complications within her life… She had telepathy.  Unfortunately, she didn’t understand how she came to have such a power, or how to use it. Nonetheless… this was not happy news to her.  This made her realize… that she indeed was strange from the beginning, and even more upset now that she knew.

For the next few months she tried to continue her studies, despite being a social pariah. She just wished each day to be over and cried herself to sleep each night.  She felt so alone…. She wanted someone to talk to normally, but…. She knew in Isolation, she was safe.  As the next few years past, Julia managed to get through and graduate from High School.  After graduating, she was encouraged by her parents to take some time to remain at home and take a few classes at the local community college, and so, she did.  Home was the one place now where she felt at peace and safe.  She continued on, taking a course in programming for the time being as she recovered from she had faced over the past years.

After some time had passed, Julia and her parents got a rather surprising visitor during her summer break.  A rather sophisticated woman with brown hair and golden eyes stood upon their doorstep, she introduced herself to them, informing them that she was a Dean from a Prestigious College.  She claimed that one of her previous teachers sent them a copy of her school grade records and believed she would be a wonderful student to have.  Though if she accepted she would need to move into the dorms upon the campus.  Julia of course was very hesitant at first.  Home was her sanctuary after all.  But once again, it was her parents who encouraged her to take the presented opportunity.  After some contemplation, and with the support of her parents, Julia accepted the woman’s offer.  Unaware till later that that offer, was Julia's first steps to her new life with the secret group known as, A-GENTS.
